about

Duality, wolf in sheep's clothing, general unease or feelings of being in danger in a way you can't articulate (think of the predator you can't see but you know is hunting you)...these are some of the things that games to mind as I wrote "Wolves".

I envisioned things gradually coming apart as the song progressed, like the whole world was unraveling..permanently, and that this was somewhat validating in some way. But right as you get the satisfaction of seeing it all unravel, you are put in a space to sit with what that means and it haunts you. That was really how the ending came to be...almost like the dissipation of that energy provided too much artistic resolution, and this song was never trying to resolve anything, so I just kept going.
